The main purpose of Acer is to focus on netbooks and replace netbooks with its tablet computers. Comparison with Android tablet makers’ ARM-based chips, Intel Sandy Bridge processors are more powerful. Lu Bing-Hsian, a sales manager from Acer stated that the tablets will run with Android OS on Intel's new Sandy Bridge processors, but he ignored to clear about the tablet version.
Lu added the tablet will be present with a quad-core (four cores) processer that makes it run faster than laptops Windows operating systems. Lu also said Acer will remain to produce simpler netbook models lower than current years till their tablets are geared up to take over.
Additional cores will create in support of enhanced multitasking which is a desirable feature of tablets, but they will not do for improving battery life. Although Acer’s last12-inch tablet version was priced under $1,000, it faced complication and it sold less than 300 units a month. So, they took back the tablets before its release in July.
