Jadavpur University

Jadavpur University is State University, located in Kolkata, West Bengal. It has two campuses, first campus at Jadavpur and another is new campus at Salt Lake. In 1906, its parent institution was set up by the National Council of Education (NCE) in Bengal. Like the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science and the Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute, it is also affiliated to leading research institutes.

It is considered to be India’s one of the top engineering institutes. This University has been identified by The University Grants Commission as one of the universities in the country with "Potential for Excellence". The National Assessment and Accreditation Council have accredited Jadavpur University with the status of 'five star' on two occasions in India.

The University has 34 departments grouped under three faculties, Arts, Science & Engineering and Technology. It offers a range of courses including 53 Diploma Courses, 14 Certificate Courses, 39 Undergraduate Courses, 6 Postgraduate Diploma Courses, 49 Postgraduate Degree Courses, 12 M.Phil Courses and 30 Miscellaneous Courses. It has a notable record in introducing new courses in emerging technologies.

How to apply?

It is necessary to apply online through the University website www.jadavpur.edu for the candidates who are interested in the BA (Honors) and for B Sc (Honors). Visit http://juadmission.org/arts for admission in BA (Hons) program. By filling in the pay-in-slip, the application fee (including service charge of Bank) of Rs 75/- for each course of study is to be deposited separately in any branch of State Bank of India. For B Sc program applicants, the application form is available on the university’s official website and also can be obtained from the University Indoor Stadium in the Jadavpur University campus between 11.00 am and 4.00 pm (recess 2.00 pm - 2.30 pm) from Monday to Friday except holidays, on cash payment of Rs 50. The applicants are requested to visit the university’s official website, for detailed information about the admission and application procedure.
