Postal Assistant Exam Model Papers & Exam Patterns

Let you know the exam pattern/format of Postal Assistants exam before to the sources of the study materials.

Following is the Postal Assistants exam pattern:

In Department of Post, the selection process for these positions consists of a 100 marks weightage system, with break-up as below:

  • 40% weightage for Class-12th %age.
  • 50% weightage for Aptitude test.
  • 10% weightage for Computer Typing test.

For example, if candidate had scored 75% in Class-12th, then the merit marks candidate score is 30 (i.e.75/100 x 40). If candidate had scored 80 (out of total 100 marks) in Aptitude test, the merit marks candidate would score is 40 (i.e.50/100 x 80). And if candidate had scored 7 (out of total 10 marks) in Computer Typing test, the merit marks candidate would score is 0.7 (i.e.10/100 x 7).

Therefore, the score of 70.7 would be counted for you with above combination in the Postal Assistants exam merit list. Following table clearly represent this scheme of Postal Assistants exam:

Cut-off scores for Postal Assistants exam:

For the Postal Assistants exam, there is no cut-off prescribed and on the basis of relative performance of all the candidates the merit list would be prepared.

A merit list would be prepared on the basis of marks secured by all the candidates in the first stage screening (based on percentage candidate secured in Class-12th exam) and after that 10 times of the category-wise vacancy is selected to appear in the Postal Assistants exam Aptitude test. For example, there are 61 Postal Assistant vacancies for ST categories, 610 candidates would be called for Aptitude Test. On the basis of all three components as discussed above the final merit list would be prepared.

Pattern of Aptitude Test in Postal Assistants exam:

The Aptitude Test includes 50 multiple choice questions of 2 marks each and include questions on English, Mathematics, General Knowledge, Reasoning and Analytical ability. The duration of the test will be of 60 minutes.

For Postal Assistant, the computer test includes 5 marks each in the following two parts:
